Blackrock Productions community interest company aspires to help provide those who are disadvantaged, disenfranchised or otherwise socially excluded with the opportunity, means and support to “tell it as it is”, free from any pre-set agenda or intervention or direction by vested interests.
It aims to give people suffering disadvantage a ‘voice’ and an understanding that come from themselves, rather than merely being a projection of the views of others.
Blackrock Productions has recently won two awards. The first was for the film Lowlands Away created as part of NORUSCO, a Scottish, Russian and Norwegian collective. It won the Debut Award at “Bereginja 2011″, The International Festival of Professional and Amateur Films and Television Programs, Archangel, Russia. The second award was for A Frame Of Mind, winner of the Blackrock Animation Film Festival Community Award, Dublin, Ireland.
